AboutDFIR.com
Today’s post is extremely short and a request for readers to go check out aboutdfir.com, which just launched this weekend. I’m fortunate enough to work with one of the collaborators, Devon Ackerman, and have followed the research of the other collaborator, Mary Ellen, enough to know that this is going to be a game changer for DFIR practitioners. Here’s a sample of what types of information the site offers now:
The most exciting part about this new site for me is the history of research and collaboration that these two bring to the table. Mary Ellen maintains EXCELLENT public sheets detailing various aspects of threat intel, DFIR, etc., and even released the Incident Response, A-Z document. Devon has been maintaining the Definitive Compendium Project, which was always one of my first stops to expand my DFIR knowledge, learn about new skills, tools, etc. Obviously, aboutdfir.com takes over that “labor of love”, and only amplifies the content that Devon gives back to the community.
Here’s Mary Ellen on one of the site’s goals:
One of our goals is to offer continuous, timely and meaningful resources, in a very easy to use format and in one central repository.
Here’s Devon on the site also:
Whether you are looking for trends reports, wanting to learn, breaking into the scene, studying for a certification, or just maintaining your skill-sets — AboutDFIR.com has you covered. No one knows it all, no one is a master of it all, and all of us are constantly learning as technology adapts and evolves all around us.
Whether you’re an experienced or up-and-coming DFIR analyst, please go check this site out sooner than later. Now, if at all possible. Bookmark it, and reference it in the future. It will become quintessential to future DFIR research.
Mary Ellen and Devon, thank you both so much! I can’t wait to watch the site grow and see what it becomes, especially as more and more folks link to it and add content.
Until tomorrow, Happy Forensicating!
